Our relationship With Presbyterian Support Northern
Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading providers of social and health and disability services. There social services are made up of Lifeline, Family Works and Shine, and their health and disability services are grouped under Enliven.
Mairangi Bay Presbyterian Church work with PSN to help our local community. In addition to our Dee’s Dementia Support Group shared activity (which is carried out under a formal agreement with PSN) we provide weekly contributions to the Presbyterian Support Northern Foodbank and an annual Christmas gift box appeal for PSN’s Family Works to distribute to the families they support. The North Shore base for Family Works is situated in our Church building.
Empowering NZ communities and supporting those in need
Food and Bedding Collections
Our church is an active supporter of Presbyterian Support Northern which is a large welfare organisation.
We collect and pass on food donations and knitted garments on a weekly basis to be delivered to the Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) Food bank.
Food donations can be dropped off at church on Sundays or during open office hours.
There is also a collection container in the church for blanket and bedding donations.
Christmas Packing Service
Each year early in December we hold a special packing service with donated Christmas treats packed into Christmas gift boxes.
These gift boxes are then distributed to families who have been identified by Presbyterian Support Family Works as needing some Christmas cheer.
Actively supporting and loving our community
