Connection through communication.
This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, the coming and outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the followers of Jesus. It marks the birthday of the Christian Church in which the message of God breaks through cultural barriers to include those from Jerusalem and beyond. Pentecost highlights the power and message of God through language, connection, and community-building. Pentecost encourages and challenges us to do this with those different from ourselves in extending God’s kingdom beyond what is familiar to us.
